Nature Walk 3: 11/2/19

I went for a walk on Saturday around the Reservoir at Boston College. I started at about 5:00 pm and walked for about 40 minutes. My friend Justin and I walked almost fully around the reservoir during the 40 minute time period. When we started the walk, we were overwhelmed by the number of birds we saw on the trail that leads to the reservoir. They were all gathered together as if they were meeting. As we walked around the reservoir, it was a challenge at first to find animals other than ducks and swans. However, once we directed our attention to the non-water side of the trail, we started to hear noises of small animals moving through the woods. Listening for their movements, we spotted several chipmunks throughout our walk. I was surprised that in all my times walking the reservoir I have never seen a chipmunk and on Saturday I saw about 5. The sun began to set around the time we finished our walk and the weather was in the mid-50s.
